Letter From the Recruitment Chair

As recruitment gets closer, I keep thinking about the version of me who was sitting where you are now. Excited. Hopeful. A little nervous. Wondering where I would belong and if I would truly find my place. If that’s you right now, I want you to know this: you don’t have to have it all figured out. You don’t need the perfect story or perfect confidence. Just come as you are. The rest has a way of unfolding the way it’s meant to.

Zeta has been more than letters for me. It has been growth. It has been becoming. It has been late night talks, hard conversations, leadership lessons, and friendships that are steady and real. It’s the place that has strengthened me, challenged me, and reminded me who I am when things feel loud or uncertain.

This sisterhood has shaped the way I lead, the way I love, and the way I show up. It has taught me to be firm with kindness, to work hard for something bigger than myself, and to celebrate the women beside me. It’s not perfect, but it’s purposeful.

Recruitment doesn’t require you to be anyone other than yourself. The conversations that matter won’t feel forced. Pay attention to where you feel comfortable, where you feel heard, and where you feel challenged in a good way.

The best parts of my college experience came from moments that required a little courage.

I can’t wait to meet you, hear your story, and see where you find your place.

Zeta Love,

Madalynn Soper

Vice President of Recruitment
